One of my favorite 'guilty pleasure' movies was The Rocketeer (1991), which features (besides Jennifer Connelly) a jet backpack. What seemed outrageously improbable at the time is largely duplicated by the performance of this device. I hear this fellow is working on a foot-launched version.

very nice, just needs to ad a helicopter feature so he can hover in between flying, imagine when solar power wafers can hold enough energy to go on real long flights. Now even when the ability to beam from one place to another [Q-Beaming] or timtraveling still the ability to really fly as an INDIVIDUAL is / will be a great natural high.
