I use a number of photographs as a rule for reference...then do the best fit. This one took about 8 hours... I work in acrylic... (sort of an underpainting, first) then take it digital. Some of this time frame is.. just sitting back and visually and mentally distancing myself from the picture, looking at it in a mirror, ect. to see where I need more colour or form. Thankyou so very much for taking the time to comment... :)

This is my favorite! The colors are incredible and really brighten up a gloomy Seattle day. When you say, "off to get some research material" I hope you mean you're off to get a new kitten. What could be more inspiring to an artist than a kitty-muse?
